Danielle Woolmer, Brenda Laing and Dot Adams want their complex painted.
SEVERAL residents at a Tweed Heads West unit complex have claimed to have received a raw deal from their body corporate.
The ongoing issues between some of the residents at Rosewood Court on Barrett St and the body corporate came to a head recently over the painting of the properties.
Dorothy Adams, Brenda Laing and Danielle Woolmer have claimed that the body corporate has ignored requests to paint the complex.
Ms Laing said she had even sought quotes herself but the body corporate would not accept the documentation instead voting to seek its own quotes.
"All we are fighting for are for repairs to be carried out on demand and the block to be painted," Ms Laing said.
Dorothy Adams who has her unit on the market said the body corporate voted to seek out quotes to paint the complex in 2004 but nothing eventuated from it.
"It's looking like housing commission homes and it never used to look like that," she said.
"The buildings have deteriorated."
Ms Laing said the body corporate voted at a meeting on December 5 to get quotes to paint the complex.
"They were going to have a special meeting two weeks later to assess the quotes. That still hasn't been done," she said.
Strata Title Management manages the complex.
Manger David Porter said the body corporate was still collecting quotes to repaint the complex.
"It is very difficult to get quotes in the December/January period," Mr Porter said.
"We have had some quotes come in and they have been quite a bit higher than expected.
"We are waiting for one or two more quotes."
Mr Porter said it was an expensive exercise and many residents didn't want the complex painted.
"There are 29 owners there so of course you are going to have different opinions," he said.
Mr Porter said there was talk of a levy being charged to complete any painting project.
