Tony Radanovic has been appointed as a committee member to the Northern Rivers arm of Regional Development Australia.
MY Daily News' very own Tony Radanovic has been appointed as a committee member to the Northern Rivers arm of Regional Development Australia.
Mr Radanovic will set the agenda on Tweed issues, acting as the eyes and ears for Canberra.
"I have a deep sense of belief in this region," Mr Radanovic said.
"For over 30 years I have liaised with local businesses throughout the Tweed region and participated as a board member of chambers of commerce.
"The federal and state governments, I believe, play an important role in assisting people to improve their lives and I would like to contribute to the effectiveness of this work with my insight into the needs of the local people and businesses."
Regional Australia Minister Simon Crean said the committee members provided a vital connection between all levels of government.
"Strong RDA committees are engaging with local communities to maximise economic growth, flexibility, diversity and resilience," Mr Crean said.
"Committee members are local leaders with diverse skills and experience, who understand the challenges, opportunities and priorities in their communities.
"They volunteer their time and energy and work tirelessly for their regions and we are committed to ensuring they have the support and resources to do their job well."
NSW Deputy Premier Andrew Stoner has welcomed the appointment of the new committee members and encouraged them to drive local solutions by identifying strengths and opportunities and turning them into policies and programs.
He said the NSW RDA network helped to drive policy for the state and for that reason, was made up of highly qualified people with a deep understanding of local issues.
