Falling back into Muster line-up

ADAM Harvey, one of Australia's most successful country music artists, will reach a pinnacle in his career at this year's Optus Gympie Music Muster.

He's already performed at about 10 Musters so far, but this year's festival is expected to stand out among them all. Harvey will launch his seventh studio album, Falling into Place, at the Gympie Muster's 30th anniversary this August.

“The Muster is the best gig in the Australian country music scene and a great opportunity for country music artists to have thousands of fans in one spot after we've gotta drive around the country and find them again,” he laughed.

Falling Into Place is Harvey's most personable album yet. He sings about the things that have genuine meaning in his life; his wife and family, the mates he drinks with at the local pub, the characters he's met and his love of fishing.

Despite being such an accomplished performer, Harvey says he gets a few nerves before performing in front of the Muster crowd but is looking forward to showcasing his new album.

“In the past I went overseas to Nashville to write songs. This time I thought ‘bugger it I'm staying home' and I went to the bar and the shed and had a few mates come around to help.”

Those mates just happened to be Beccy Cole and Troy Cassar-Daley.

“I hope they will make guest appearance during my Muster performances, we like to do that sometimes at Tamworth so fingers crossed.”

Falling Into Place reaches the challengingly high standards Adam Harvey has sent himself since arriving on the country music scene a decade ago.

“I've always loved country, my dad brainwashed me by playing all the old vinyls from Slim Dusty to Johnny Cash,” he says of his influences.

“I fell in love with the great stories. In Australia I think people listen and relate to the songs we are singing.”

Harvey tells a lot of personal stories on his latest album and said he would do a deal for fans who buy it at the Muster. “I need to sell a few copies of the new album so the wife can by some new shoes,” he joked.

“Even though times are tough I think this Muster will be great, bigger and better than ever. I am really looking forward to getting up there and seeing the fans. It's an important part of what we do, meeting people...and connecting with the audience.
