THE developer of a luxury apartment block opposite the Tweed Heads Bowls Club says the $46 million project is 50 per cent sold, making it the fastest-selling over-55s project in Australia.
Over five months, the Serene Living development has seen 39 apartments sold – an average of two sales per week – in a sign the Tweed property market is recovering strongly.
Serene Living sales manager Gregg Taylor had expected the development to be well-rec-eived by the local community, but said the latest sales run was surprising.
“We have experienced extraordinary sales results, the likes of which I have never seen before in my 40 years in the real estate industry,” he said.
“Serene Living has recorded the fastest-selling pre-sales for an over-55s development in Australia so far, and we think this is due to a shortage of new, quality apartments in this area.
“Sales are being driven by the local market, with 34 per cent of buyers originating from Banora Point. Twenty per cent of sales originated from the Greenbank precinct and the Anchorage Islands.
“These buyers can literally walk to Serene Living from their existing homes but wanted the added convenience of being close to the Bowls Club, Centro Tweed Mall and Tweed River.
“We have also experienced strong sales from the greater Gold Coast region from people who are regular visitors to the Coolangatta and Tweed clubs, beaches and sporting facilities, making up 23 per cent of total sales.
Proda director Ben Fuller said the project was attracting buyers from all walks of life looking for luxury, modern apartments close to amenities.
