BATMAN Superman, Wonder Woman, Spiderman and Miss Marvel are pretty amazing super heroes.
You might have an idea for a new superhero entirely of your own creation.
Now is your chance to live the dream and have some really great fun.
Superhero Saturday will see Jack Evans Boat Harbour explode into super hero land on Saturday, November 3 when families also get the chance to win some incredible prizes.
Families need to register now to get the chance to win prizes that include the Sunshine Coast Hinterland Experience, including four nights accommodation at Jacaranda Cottages Maleny, an Australia Zoo family pass, the Byron Bay Adventure Package or a Currumbin Family Day package.
By participating in the event and become superheroes for a day, families support the valuable work of The Family Centre at Tweed Heads.
Superhero Saturday is a fun and exciting orienteering style event when children will team up with adult family members (in teams of two or four) and participate with other families.
Teams are given a 'mission kit' including a map and need to find checkpoints and clues to move about the course while doing various challenges along the way.
Come dressed in your best superhero costumes, as simple or as elaborate as you like. The registration fee is $40 for a team of four, or $20 for a team of two.
The Family Centre's executive director, David Boutkan said the response from the community has been "really positive."
"It's going to be an amazing sight with superhero suited families running all over the park in a mad scramble to complete their missions.
"While there are great prizes to be won, Super Hero Saturday is about having good old fashioned fun with the family."
"Register today so you don't miss out on a day your family will never forget."
An additional element of Superhero Saturday is the Zero to Superhero Challenge where families can choose to use all their super powers to raise money for The Family Centre.
"We're encouraging families to get creative in their fundraising and help spread the superhero message," Mr Boutkan said.
"Some families may choose to host barbeques with friends and ask guests to donate loose change, or they may get the kids to do helpful chores for their neighbours for a small donation.
"There will be a great prize on offer for the family who raises the most by the end of November."
The Family Centre is committed to working together with the community to build community capacity and deliver outstanding human services.
"Its mission is for happy children, caring families and strong community.
Superhero Saturday encourages the development of social and team skills while strengthening family relationships and community connections.
