Woodchips to fly

THE CHIPS will fly this afternoon as competition gets underway at the 53rd annual Brunswick Heads Woodchop Carnival.

The first of 34 events to be staged over four days will kick off with the 325mm underhand handicap division One at 1pm, followed by the 300mm standing block handicap.

Competing will be 90 axemen and women from all over Australia, New Zealand and Canada.

For the first time, two Australian championships will also be staged at the event on Friday and Saturday.
