Wall work is rock and rolling
WORK has begun on Kingscliff Beach to put a halt to erosion between the surf club and the bowls club.
A day after the end of the NSW Surf Life Saving Championships and the heavy equipment moved onto the beach to install 6300 tonnes of rock.
The rock wall is a $440,000 effort from the Tweed Shire Council to stop the sea from claiming more of Kingscliff's foreshore and threatening the holiday park.
The Kingscliff Beach Holiday Park is expected to be full this Easter holidays.
The rock wall project was expected to be completed by the busy holiday period to avoid disruption to holiday makers and before expected high tides.
