ANOTHER stage of the Banora Point Pacific Highway upgrade is due for completion this month with the new Darlington Dr underpass almost ready for traffic.
Over the next week, excavation, asphalt and drainage works will continue at the Darlington Dr intersection before the new underpass is opened to one-way traffic travelling west to Banora Point.
When the new underpass is opened, the existing Darlington Dr underpass will be permanently closed to all traffic.
The Roads and Maritime Service has advised that when this happens, motorists from Tweed Heads South or east Banora wanting to travel to west Banora will continue to use the temporary eastern link road but will now be required to turn right using the new underpass.
Motorists travelling from west Banora to Tweed Heads South or east Banora will be required to use the Minjungbal Dr underpass and the northern interchange roundabout.
The timing of these changes is heavily reliant on the weather.
