Two men attacked with scissors at Christmas party

TWO MEN suffered facial and neck wounds after being stabbed with scissors outside a Christmas party at Upper Main Arm, 14k north west of Mullumbimby.

The victims were talking outside the Upper Main Arm Hall near Byron Bay after 11.30pm on Friday.

Police said an unknown man attacked them with a pair of scissors before driving away.

One man, aged 46, received wounds to his neck and windpipe.

The other man, aged 36, sustained a number of lacerations to his face.

Both victims were taken to Tweed Heads Hospital where they remain in a stable condition having undergone surgery.

The Christmas party at Upper Main Arm Hall was attended by over 200 guests.

Police urged residents of the Upper Main Arm who attended the party to contact Crime Stoppers in 1800 333 000 or the Tweed Police to help them with the investigation of the incident.
