HARD working volunteers from Twin Town Friends Association had a great time at their end of year Christmas party last night.

About 50 volunteers sat down for a special dinner at the Tweed Head Bowls Club Blue Room.

"It was to say a big thank-you for the year," founder Doreen Welsh said.

"It was just a lovely night and it was nice to be thanked and served on."

The voluntary organisation provides friendship and social interaction to lonely and isolated seniors with weekly home visits and outings.

Although the group had a lovely evening they are still struggling to find volunteers to help their ever growing client list.

"We have 230 clients," he said.

"We're hoping to god some other people get behind us.

"We've been knocking them back and can't take anymore on."

If you can donate a few hours a week to the organisation that tied to help our lonely seniors please contact Ms Welsh on 07 5524 1841.
