THE honours just keep rolling in for Grafton's Talia Rose.

After duxing South Grafton High School with an HSC result which placed her in the top 1% of the State, 18-year-old Talia has been nominated for the Clarence Valley's Young Citizen Of The Year.

She was nominated by the principal of South Grafton High School, Brian Heath.

"Talia is an outstanding young woman advancing the voice of youth in the Clarence Valley and elsewhere through her involvement in local state and national gatherings," Mr Heath said.

"Her passion, community involvement and success are testimony to her striving for excellence."

In March last year Talia attended the 17th National Schools Constitutional Convention in Canberra.

The convention was designed to give students a taste of the political life which Talia said was a "fantastic experience".

She was also invited to attend a conference at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem in August after receiving a high distinction in the UNSW science competition.

Several Nobel laureates in science will host the event.
