SHAVED heads, spray-painted pink pitches and pink balloon releases en masse are just some of the ways the Aussie cricketing community have celebrated the McGrath Foundation and Cricket Australia's Pink Stumps Day over the past two years.

The fundraising celebration is set to continue next month, with 1000 cricket clubs, businesses, schools and community groups set to get "pinked out" to help raise money for the McGrath Foundation and, more importantly, awareness for breast cancer.

Clubs around the Clarence Valley will be involved, and a pink fixture is tentatively scheduled for the weekend of February 16-17.

As communities celebrate Pink Stumps Day nationwide, the McGrath Foundation, Cricket Australia, Cricket NSW, Vodafone and the SCG Trust will celebrate five years as partners.

Formed around the Vodafone Sydney Pink Test, the friendship has raised over $3.5 million in the past four years, making eight McGrath Breast Care Nurse positions possible.

Chairman and Co-Founder of the McGrath Foundation, Glenn McGrath, said having raised close to $1.35 million dollars in the last two years, Pink Stumps Day has become a community cricket fixture and part of the McGrath Foundation fabric.

"That includes attendees at the Pink Test to groups participating in Pink Stumps Day, which has helped fund six existing McGrath Breast Care Nurse positions across Australia," he said.

Cricket Australia CEO, James Sutherland, is proud to see the friendship between Cricket Cares and the McGrath Foundation grow and reach new milestones.

"Community cricket plays a big role in people's lives and it's great to know our grassroots cricketers enjoy our great game and simultaneously giving back to the community."
