POLICE are appealing for information following the theft of one of Darcy Goodwin's Five Loaves Mobile Soup Kitchen vans last night just 10 days after the local humanitarian passed away.

The locked van, which was parked in the Lismore Seventh Day Adventist church car park, was stolen either on Thursday night or Friday morning.

The van is easily recognisable from its Five Loaves Mobile Soup Kitchen logos and is desperately needed by the not-for-profit charity.

Mr Goodwin was well known around the region as the driving force behind the multi-award winning Five Loaves Mobile Soup Kitchen.

The "humanitarian extraordinaire" had helped out thousands of people on the Northern Rivers, from handing out food to helping them find accommodation and delivering furniture.

He died of natural causes last week.

Anyone with any information about the stolen van is urged to call Lismore police on 6626 0599 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
