FIRE completely gutted an isolated home in Bogangar over night.

Two teens, both home at the time, were not harmed during the blaze.

Far North Coast Rural Fire operations manager Bob Wilcox said about 8pm the crew received a call to attend the house fire at the Round Mountain Rd property

"We believe it started in a car," he said.

"Then it spread to the house.

"No cause has been identified."

Units from Cudgen, Tweed Coast and Kingscliff attended the blaze and it took more than two hours to extinguish the fire.

The house was brick but Mr Wilcox believed the furnishings helped to spread the flames.

Tweed/Byron Local Area Command Inspector Jim Kane said the fire still under investigation by police to determine the cause.

The forensic unit is still at the scene.
