Taylor Made returns
TWEED movie-goers will not be disappointed next month as two beloved Australian films join forces for charity at Murwillumbah's Regent Cinema.
The feature film classic Red Dog will be screened alongside the local hit Taylor Made, both famous for their authentic characters and settings.
Apex and Mt Warning AM Rotary will host the event, with all proceeds going to the Apex Banana Festival queen candidate and the Reel Motion Film Festival, in conjunction with the 2012 Banana Festival.
This is the first time in five years that David Batty's "Taylor Made" will be screened in public, the last being screened to a packed house.
Murwillumbah identity Phil Taylor, the subject of the short-film biopic, said: "I did not expect this and to be screened with Red Dog is even more of an honour," the 61-year-old said.
"There will be wine tasting between each film and I think the Red Dog himself will make an appearance."
Margarita Rickard, president of the Mt Warning AM Rotary, was unabashed in her determination to "get behind" the Reel Motion Film Festival, supporting local youth film-making.
"There is a need in the area to help these budding film makers," she said.
The event is on May 17, starting at 6pm with Taylor Made screening first at 6.30pm.
