GREENMOUNT Beach will be full of surfers for the Paul Ebsworth Memorial Surf Competition on Saturday.

From 9am competitors will be trying to catch the best wave to raise funds for the Australian Lung Foundation.

The competition is organised by the late Mr Ebsworth son Blake Ebsworth.

Blake started the competition five years ago after his dad, a non-smoker, died of lung cancer caused by inhaling passive smoke.

About 40 keen board lovers will compete in the event.

"Throughout the day there will be an open male surf comp and an open female surf comp and it costs surfers $20 for entry," Blake said.

"There will be shirts, food and drinks sold on the day but we are still on the lookout for more sponsors.

"The winning surfers will each receive a trophy and prize."

Check out Greenmount Beach on Saturday for all the action.
