Supporting the region’s development
PEOPLE who care about our region are being asked to step forward.
Regional Development Australia's local chairman Dr Ian Tiley said in the next year or two, the body would be engaging with local communities on important issues for the region including social and economic development, regional transport and the digital economy.
Volunteers with community, industry or local government experience are needed to represent the broad interests of the Northern Rivers, to understand our local community based challenges and to strive towards achieving results.
"I encourage interested people, including strong leaders and committed individuals who have a vision for the region and want to see positive change in the community to submit an expression of interest and to become active contributors," Dr Tiley said.
"It is vital that there is diversity and strength represented in our RDA committee."
RDA is a national network of 55 committees of local community members aimed at finding local solutions to local problems.
Expressions of interest can be submitted online until January 16.
