South Grafton dux sets sights on a career in science
AFTER a year of having her nose stuck in the books, Talia Rose from South Grafton High will be able to rest easy in the New Year before tackling a science degree.
Miss Rose duxed the school with an exceptional ATAR rank of 99.05.
Having aced all four units of HSC English, three units of advanced maths, physics, chemistry, biology and legal studies Talia is contemplating a future in the sciences.
"My highest score was in legal studies but I'm hoping to do bio-medical science or bio-medical engineering or an advanced science degree majoring in neurology," Talia said.
She has applied to a few universities, and is waiting for offers of a scholarship.
For her fourth unit of English Talia put together a multimedia based creative piece on how modern technology and social media reflect literature, in particular Hamlet.
However she enjoyed the sciences most of all and consequently has chosen them as her future career focus.
