Soggy and boggy turns to rosy and cosy at Tyalgum’s Aussie Day
EVERY dinky di Aussie wants damper on Australia Day.
But not the wet weather variety.
Most Aussie Day events were cancelled due to heavy rain, but there were a few die-hards who braved the weather with flags waving and some Aussie true grit.
Speaking of Aussie grits, that's exactly what was on the menu at Tyalgum.
The cricket and cycle race may have been washed asunder, but people flocked to Flutterbies Cottage Cafe for a selection of bush tucker.
"We've had a great turnout," said Flutterbies' Solar Chapel.
"We also celebrated our eighth birthday and the opening of our new gift shop."
Chef Leigh Robertson excelled with a range of bush tucker that included a Diggers' Breakfast and Lemon Myrtle French Toast.
A soggy, boggy Australia Day became a cosy, rosy celebration as the new shop was officially opened with rose champagne and pink candy floss.
