Site buzzing with ideas for mums
TWEED mum Vanessa Fairweather became the luckiest entrepreneur on the coast last year winning the APN Great Business Grant.
Now her dream of supporting mums in her local community has become a reality with the official launch on Mumzbuzz.
The community website is jam-packed with events, activities and information for Tweed mums and their kids.
Any mum with a child aged from newborn to five years old can access the full-to-the-brim calendar to fill their day.
Ms Fairweather said she knew how lonely new mums could feel and wanted to bring them all together.
"No longer are mums to feel isolated and alone when they enter the new world of motherhood," she said.
"Mumzbuzz brings everything that is happening on the Tweed to one handy location."
The website features information on local mothers groups, library dates, and specific activities like story times and sing-alongs for babies, gymnastics, dance, soccer for toddlers and early learning programs and concerts for pre-schoolers.
Mums will have everything they need to know - the event, time, location, cost, age suitability, handy Google map and directions, what to bring and what's included - all in the one place.
Ms Fairweather said the response from local business had been fantastic.
"Everyone is keen to come on board and is excited about the site and what it means for the mums in our community," she said.
"The community spirit is so wonderful across the Tweed."
