Shinji Ono leads Wanderers to victory with two superb goals

A SHINJI Ono masterclass allowed Western Sydney Wanderers to leapfrog Melbourne Victory into third spot on the A-League ladder with a 2-1 win at Parramatta Stadium last night.

Ono scored two stunning goals in a man-of-the-match performance to start 2013 in the best possible way for the league's new boys.

Wanderers now sit ahead of Victory on goal difference and have a great chance to take a top-six spot in their first season and make the playoffs.

Ono opened the scoring in the shadows of half-time with a beautiful goal.

Controlling the ball in the air with his right foot, Ono juggled once before volleying an unstoppable shot past Victory goalkeeper Nathan Coe.

Melbourne pushed forward in search of an equaliser after the break and was rewarded when substitute Spase Dilevski scored a super goal himself with special strike.

But Ono would not be outdone and after faking a pass he cut inside and curled a wonderful shot into the top corner to seal the win.
