Sharks and lots of them in the bay
IT'S been a bit of a mixed bag for the school holidays.
The groms have been lucky enough to score a few offshore days in the bay, but when the wind turned back to the north, it did so with a vengeance.
Of course, these radical wind changes are nothing new for spring.
It's just way it goes, especially when we're in the transitional phase from a La Nina into an El Nino.
But there have been waves, albeit small, and it seems week two could have some more.
Bit of a heads up for sharks, guys.
The crew spotted two white pointers, one at Wategos and the other at The Pass this last week.
A very reliable source also spotted a large tiger shark at Wategos.
There was also a bronze whaler cruising just metres off the bank at Clarkes Beach where unsuspecting families were swimming. Plus a small to mid-sized bull shark cruised in and chased a few groms at The Pass. Bottom line people: they are around in numbers at the moment, so be careful.
