Serene Living secures backer
TWEED Heads retirement development Serene Living is back on track and marked the recommencement of building work at a function at Tweed Heads Bowls Club on Tuesday night.
Managing director Ben Fuller said it had been a tough few months for the developer and the people who had invested in it, but he was excited that the project would proceed with the support of Retirement Australia.
"I'm glad to be able to say these words to you: Serene Living is back," Mr Fuller said.
"We have new partners on board and their expertise and experience add so much to the project.
"We have the same amazing builders, the same incredible project team and the same first-class facilities.
"Serene Living is going to offer everything that over 55s could want."
Mr Fuller said the residents of Serene Living were the most important part of the project and despite the delays and hiccups over the last few months they had continued to stick by the project.
He also thanked builders Glenzeil, who he said he "can't wait to have you back on site" and completing the project.
"It's comforting knowing that we have the builders who are held in such high regard, not only for their building quality but their attention to detail.
"I know that Glenzeil will do an amazing job on Serene."
Retire Australia, with more than 25 villages around the country and a multiple retirement industry award winner, has joined the Serene Living project.
Managing director Tim Russell said the company was "excited to be involved in Serene Living".
"It will certainly be a jewel in the crown for us and that is saying a lot considering the number of beautiful villages we currently have," Mr Russell said
"Once final documentation is completed, in a couple of weeks, we will all be ready to go."
Mr Fuller said Serene Living would be one of the safest and most secure buildings in the area, offer unparalleled health solutions and activities to keep the minds and bodies of residents active.
