Selena happy to be a student again

Selena Brown has been eliminated from The Biggest Loser for the second time.
Selena Brown has been eliminated from The Biggest Loser for the second time.

NURSING student Selena Brown is a changed woman since leaving the Biggest Loser house for the second time.

The 21-year-old volunteered to go home after the new "young pups" team fell below the yellow line at tonight's weigh-in.

"By then I had got enough of the game play," she said. "I was sick of how people were manipulating each other and I know some other people in the house felt the same.

"I thought 'if I'm on the outside it will be hard but at least my life will go the way I want it'."

Brown was the first contestant eliminated from the seventh, singles-themed series of the weight-loss show but thanks to a twist she was invited back into the competition.

Since returning to the Biggest Loser house in week two, Brown has struggled to connect with her white team members Michelle and Kasey.

"I've been bullied most of my life and that makes you realise you need to rely on yourself and the only person you can trust is yourself," she said.

"I was sick of the girls not understanding that. I was sick of the girls not understand that I do have all these issues that I do need to get over, and it's not going to happen in two or three months."

Back at university working on her nursing and teaching degrees, Brown said she is much happier back home in the NT.

"I'm keeping up with my training and eating healthy. I'm a lot happier now than in the house," she said.

"I still have my struggles here and there but I'm better. Even my friends are like 'Selena you've changed so much since the last time we saw you'."

Brown has got back into dancing, one of her passions in high school, and is playing rugby union. She is even planning on getting her first tattoo.

"I'm getting the word tidda, which is an Aboriginal word for sister, and a symbol - one of my little sister's favourite animals," she said.

Brown's elimination marks the half-way point in the series, with only eight of the original 16 contestants remaining in the competition.

The Biggest Loser airs Mondays to Fridays at 7pm on Ten.
