Roller derby girls pumped up and ready to roll
THE Bay Rollers are warmed up and ready to go.
The fired-up Rollers are about to get their 2013 campaign under way with an exciting first match against the Gold Coast in two weeks.
Club secretary Emma Moses said players were in great shape for the contest.
"Everyone is really excited and cannot wait to get started," Moses said.
"The team is looking strong and has been training hard."
The match is the second for the side at its new home in the Byron Regional Sport and Cultural Complex in Ewingsdale Rd.
Moses, who goes by the name of Crystal Beth during contests, said the sport provided eye-catching fun.
"It is fun and exciting to watch and there is also the theatrical aspect of it all too," she said.
"I think there is something intriguing about seeing a group of women skating and bumping into each other."
Doors will open for the bout with on Saturday, March 23 before the match at 6.30pm.
