Robbery court case adjourned

THE CASE of a man who robbed a Tweed Heads bank with a fake gun covered by a pillowslip in December last year was adjourned on Tuesday.

Rodney Hoole did not appear in Lismore Local Court over the armed robbery of the National Australia Bank at Tweed Heads South on December 20.

Police allege Hoole entered the bank around 10am armed with 2 pieces of conduit joined together covered by a pillowcase to create the appearance of a double barrelled shotgun.

Hoole fled the bank and was caught three months after he allegedly stole $3890.

After reviewing CCTV footage police established Hoole's identity.

Police executed a search warrant in March at Hoole's mother's Banora Point home and arrested the known drug addict in an upstairs bedroom.

Magistrate Jeff Linden adjourned his matter until August 21 for mention.
