Rainy day fans pack out movie theatre in Grafton
THE VALLEY'S cinemas were chock-a-block as the traditional Boxing Day rush combined with rainy weather.
At the Saraton Theatre in Grafton more than 400 people had been to the movies by 1pm yesterday, with later sessions selling out. The most popular Boxing Day film for Graftonians was The Hobbit.
Saraton Theatre manager Shelley Gilbert said the first session sold out almost instantly.
"Les Miserables has almost sold out as well," Ms Gilbert said.
Yamba cinema manager Debbie McCredie was equally flat out.
"This is always the biggest day of the year by far," she said.
The first two sessions of Wreck-it Ralph sold out early and Ms McCredie said it was proving to be the most popular film in the Lower Clarence cinema.
