Prospective Byron buyers queue to tee off
THE RARE opportunity to build a home on a golf course is creating a lot of interest in a 2.35ha parcel of land for sale at Byron Bay Golf Club.
The land, in the north-western corner of the 18 hole championship course, enjoys direct access to the fairway, comes with approval for a three lot subdivision and is just a short walk to Tallow Beach.
The golf club is even going to throw in a golf buggy track to the land as well as one year's free club membership valued at $850 as a sweetener.
"How many other blocks of this size with privacy do you know of on a golf course, 500 metres to the beach and only minutes from town?" asked Peter Swaby, the secretary manager of the club
Agent Jeremy Bennett from Byron Bay Property Sales said they had been fielding an average of five inquiries a day about the parcel of land since it went on the market in late November.
Offers of over $1 million are being sought.
The expressions of interest deadline has been extended by a fortnight to February 18 so some of the interested parties have time to make arrangements with their financial institutions, Mr Bennett said.
