UPDATE 4pm: A NORTHERN NSW Local Health District spokeswoman said the 22-year-old pregnant woman trapped in a vehicle this morning was discharged from Lismore Base Hospital this afternoon after being assessed by doctors.

Earlier today: A PREGNANT woman was trapped in her vehicle after a serious crash in Goonellabah this morning causing peak hour traffic diversions on Bruxner Hwy.

She was pinned for at least 10 minutes after a car turning out of James Rd clipped the back of her Hyundai sedan causing it to roll just before 8.30am this morning.

Police, paramedics, and NSW Fire and Rescue rushed to the scene which caused havoc with the morning traffic flow on the highway.

The 22-year-old woman was released from her overturned car and assessed by paramedics at the scene before being rushed to Lismore Base Hospital in a serious condition.

Both cars, a white Hyundai sedan and a grey Hyundai sedan were removed from the road by 9.10am and traffic flow returned to normal.
