Pre-poll voting opens across region

PRE-poll voting for the Tweed Shire Council elections will open today.

People wishing to vote early in person can do so at the Murwillumbah Railway Station Waiting Room, Tweed Valley Way, Murwillumbah, or at the Tweed Returning Officer's office at 39 Wharf St, Tweed Heads.

Voters who wish to vote in Sydney can do so at Sydney Town Hall.

To receive a postal vote visit 222.votensw.info or phone 1300 135 736.

Postal votes must be received by the NSW Electoral Commission no later than 5pm on Monday, September 3.

Voting in the council elections is compulsory. The penalty for not voting is $55.
