NSW Police today confirmed that suspended Tweed police officer Detective Inspector Shane Diehm is under investigation by the Professional Standards Command.

The high-ranking former crime manager of the Tweed Byron Local Area Command, who is on 12 months full pay following his suspension, was stood down last August when he tested positive to cocaine on August 6.

An investigation revealed the crime manager used the drug while at a party in Sydney with fellow officers.

He allegedly stole and used the drugs from evidence lockers.

An Australian Federal Police officer and another police officer from the Northern Region were also placed under investigation at the time.

A NSW Police spokeswoman said the Professional Standards Command investigation was continuing.

"As a result, it is inappropriate to provide any further comment," she said.
