Pacific Hwy traffic still extremely heavy

FOR THE second day in a row motorists are facing traffic queues of up to 25km on the Pacific Highway at Kempsey and even 3km at Woodburn.

Bottle-necks have developed at Woodburn, Kempsey, Bulahdelah and Macksville as motorists make their way north for their summer holiday.

The Traffic Management Centre reported queues of 25km northbound into Kempsey at 1.15pm.

Motorists are advised to be patient and allow one hour and 45 minutes additional travel time.

Closer to home, queues of 3km are being experienced on the highway at Woodburn.

Further south at Bulahdelah, motorists are being advised to allow an extra 30 minutes travel time after a 7km queue formed.

Traffic is built up for 4km northbound into Macksville and motorists are advised to allow an extra 30 minutes travel time.
