Pacific Highway closed after head-on collision

A SERIOUS accident blocked the Pacific Highway at Tintenbar near the Ross Lane turnoff for two hours this afternoon.

The accident, which happened around 3.45pm was allegedly a head on collision, with a man, woman and child left trapped inside a kombi van.

The Pacific Highway was closed in both directions and while southbound traffic was being diverted along Ross Lane, there was no viable solution to redirect the northbound traffic and police were forced to park the traffic for the duration of the operation.

There are now unconfirmed reports that two people have been taken to Lismore Base Hospital in a stable condition, with one other person was still trapped in a car.

Police have reported that the highway was reopened as of 5.45pm.
