Oh baby, not so shy band headed for Ivory Tavern
SASSY rock band Shybaby will play its first gig in the Tweed on the weekend.
The Byron Bay cover band will rock the socks off visitors to the Ivory Tavern with their mix of fun songs from the 70s through to now.
Front woman and lead singer Shiney Lefai said the band was excited to head to Tweed Heads and hoped lots of people would come out for the show.
Shybaby, although relatively new to the scene, have paved their way into stacks of venues down south.
"We got together and put forward the songs that we all individually love, that list then went through intense scrutiny until we came up with a repertoire that we felt was rocking, and worthy," she said.
"It seems we have done well as the audience are frequently commenting on what a great selection of songs we do."
Lefai said she loved playing music.
"There's not that much better than paying, she said.
"It's about the energy that goes though you.
"I think its one of the best things in life."
The talented singer said her and female drummer Mel Greensil bring a delicious scent of girls just wanting to have fun to the band.
Guitarist Mick Lonsdale and bass player Greg Buckman banded together about two years ago to take on the sassy rock world gig at a time.

The Ivory courtesy bus runs within a 5km radius Friday and Saturday from 7pm until closing time.
