NSW Govt community grants open

TWO Northern Rivers community groups have received a funding boost from the NSW Government.

Lismore MP Thomas George has announced that Tweed Riding for the Disabled Association and Woodenbong Tennis Club will share almost $12,000 in special funding as part of the Participation and Facility Grant Program.

Woodenbong Tennis Club will receive $9892, while Tweed Riding for the Disabled Association gets $2000.

"This program provides funding for local initiatives that encourage people to be more active on a regular basis," Mr George said.

"Participation in sport and recreation together with good facilities brings people closer together, as well as offering many health benefits.

"By assisting to fund the development of local sport facilities, the NSW Government is investing in the health and wellbeing of our local communities."

Applications for the next round of Participation and Facilities Program grants will open on 21 January 21 and close February 26.
