BRACE yourself.

Coloured jeans, cowboy boots, velvet and cat-eye sunglasses reminiscent of Marilyn Monroe in How to Marry a Millionaire are back.

Kingscliff boutique owner Rosie Richards believes it's all part of a frolicsome '90s resurgence.

"It's like this season we've finally moved away from our obsession with the '80s and moved forward to the '90s," Ms Richards said.

"Remember the girly dresses with Doc Martens from the '90s?

"And red jeans are back."

Raggedy Anne is neatly nestled next to the best coffee shop in town, La Mar Cafe and Bar, on Marine Pde.

I challenge you to come up with a more perfect autumn Sunday morning combination.

The boutique has all this season's new colours along with a healthy collection of staples.

"The last few years everything was black and grey, but now we're seeing more colour which is great for us here because it's a mild climate that makes for trans-seasonal fashion," Ms Richards said.

"Blacks are big at any time but this season I'm noticing a lot of red and orange highlights.

"Boots are strong again too; think girly floral prints with cowboy boots."

For the brave, there's always leopard print and for the braver, print clashing.

"Leopard's a religion; it's still strong and people can't get enough of it," Ms Richards said.

"You can even clash leopard prints, all print clashing is OK this season."

According to Ms Richards, we've been throwing our fashion fidelity around a little more in recent years, much to the delight of boutique owners.

"Style is everything and anything now because people transition their looks," she said.

"You don't have to be loyal to one style, you can be girly and feminine one day to rocker and edgy and then hippy the next."

Raggedy Anne stocks Australian labels and lots of cute Australian handmade crafting and jewellery, all at totally attainable prices.

If you're ready to try on a jumper dress, line dance in some cowboy boots or squeeze into some red jeans, get down there now.

And if you're too afraid to revert back to the '90s version of yourself you'd rather forget, go anyway but maybe just invest in a new pair of sunnies.

You'll find some awesome reproduced vintage ones by Quay at just $24.95 a pop.
