Nature calls and thieves respond

AS NATURE called for a Mount Morgan woman in the dead of night on Razorback Rd, the last thing she expected was to become a victim of crime.

The woman, who did not wish to be identified, was driving home to Mount Morgan around 10pm on Friday.

She was about 7km outside of the town before feeling the urge to go to the loo.

She pulled over not thinking she would be disturbed on her quick venture into the bushes.

"I was only 20m away from my car, and I heard a car stop and voices so tried to hurry up and I rushed back to the car," she said.

"It was a young boy and his girlfriend, and they drove off with my phone."

The woman said the car drove about 200m up the road and stopped again.

"So I followed after them and parked in front of their car," she said.

"And here he is holding my phone giving it back to me and then had the hide to say - 'well you should have locked your car'."

The woman said she believed the man just saw it as an opportunity to steal.

"But to be told that I should have locked my car by a thief, it just made me really angry," she said.
