MP recovering from shoulder surgery for next few weeks
LISMORE MP Thomas George is expected to be out of action for several weeks with "complications" after surgery.
According to a statement released from Mr George's office doctors advised the MP, whose electorate covers Murwillumbah, to rest for a few weeks after post-surgery complications.
"In December I underwent shoulder surgery," Mr George said in a statement.
"Due to some complications post-surgery, I was readmitted to hospital and have now been advised to rest for a few weeks.
"During this time, it is business as usual in the Lismore electorate office and my staff will be supported by my north coast colleagues if needed."
"I'd like to express sincere thanks for all those in the community who have passed on their best wished for a speedy recovery."
Mr George was released from hospital today, but was undergoing further tests.
"I had a shoulder reconstruction and they put some pins in. They (doctors) think it might be a problem there," he said.
