Motorcyclist dies on Terranora Rd after police chase
A 42-YEAR-OLD motorcyclist died in a crash following a short police pursuit at Tumbulgum East last night.
A NSW Police statement says the man was seen by police travelling south along Terranora Rd about 8.10pm.
"Police followed the motorcycle for a short distance before the rider lost control and collided heavily with a tree," the statement says.
"The 42-year-old man died at the scene."
Police secured the area as a crime scene and a critical investigation team has been formed.
The police statement said an independent critical incident team would investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.
