Man survives freak flood accident after car slips into creek

THE will to survive and a well placed rock saved a Tweed man's life on Sunday.

The 32-year-old's car was hit by flash flooding, which sent his vehicle careening into a fast flowing creek near Mooball.

Water filled the car and the man crawled through an open window into the creek, propelling him downstream in the dark.

He clung to a rock by the bank of the creek until finally he was able to pull himself onto shore.
