A MAN who exposed himself to children on Thursday was arrested and charged last night.

About 6.30pm police arrested the 47-year-old man who allegedly sneaked into the Oaks Calypso resort in Coolangatta for a skinny dip.

Coolangatta police Senior Constable Phil Buckley said children were swimming in the pool and one of the fathers confronted the man.

"He then ran off," Snr Con Buckley said.

The Lismore man was arrested a short time later with his pants up at Langham St, near the Coolangatta Bowls Club.

Snr Con Buckley said the man allegedly stole a bag from one of the resort visitors.

He was charged with trespass, possession of suspected stolen property and for failing to appear on another matter.

He will front the Southport Magistrate Court today.
