Maclean ladies get crafty for their street stall
THERE was a constant crowd at the crossing in Maclean on Friday morning, but it wasn't anything traffic related.
Jean Butcher, Elsie Balfour and Glenda Johnson along with other members of the Maclean Anglican Church stopped the traffic with their homemade crafts.
The crafts are made by the ladies at a weekly group at the church.
"We have 15 people that come every Monday from February doing such crafts as hand-stitching, crochet and machine work." Glenda said.
"We had our craft fair last week and now we come down for our street fair."
The display also offered up an array of treats, such as home-made cakes, jams, pickles and also Christmas decorations.
Apart from raising money for the local church, the ladies agreed that it was the fellowship that made it all worth doing.
"We all sit down and just sew, and there's a lot of talk." Elsie said.
"We celebrate each others birthdays, there's lot of laughs, and a great time together."
