Barba may make Origin debut

MACKAY Ben Barba has come into State of Origin game three calculations after Queensland fullback Billy Slater suffered an injury to his left knee against NSW in Sydney on Wednesday night.

Slater was clearly hampered by the injury and told officials he could only run at 75% during the match.

It is expected Slater has a PCL (posterior cruciate ligament) injury but the Storm fullback would more about his game three availability late yesterday.

The lingering doubt over Slater means Barba remains a remote chance to make his Origin debut in game three in Brisbane next month.

However Queensland is likely to move Greg Inglis to fullback as cover for Slater is required leaving Barba continuing to wait for a possible Origin debut.
