Maccas modifies plans

A DEVELOPMENT application for a McDonald's and IGA shopping complex has been resubmitted to Tweed Shire Council.

The developer has lodged a modified plan after it was given conditional approval from the $3 million development in Murwillumbah South.

A council spokesman said the development was required because of conditions attached to the approval that required the design changes to be resubmitted.

According to a council letter to McDonalds, a planning application had to be lodged to the general manager for approval.

The general manager's approval required a redesign of the roof, a change to building materials, a larger outdoor eating area, IGA being more visible from the road, removing the 10m high pylon IGA and McDonalds sign and landscaping changes.
