Lion King auditions focus of dance workshop in Tweed
A TWEED dance studio is training dancers for the role of a lifetime.
As the name suggests, Industry Dance is making every effort to get dancers working as professional by training them for specific auditions.
On Saturday, the studio is holding a workshop for anyone interested in auditioning for The Lion King production in Sydney at the end of the year.
Entertainment career coach and performer Bex Grennan will host the two-hour workshop that will train dancers in The Loin King dancing style.
"There are so many workshops like this going on in Sydney and Melbourne that I wanted to bring it to Queensland (and Northern NSW) audiences too," Ms Grennan said.
"I'm going to cover everything. It's really what they need if they are thinking about auditioning."
Ms Grennan said the workshop was for adults between the ages of 18-30 but anyone could take part.
"Their will be about 30 cast member in the dance ensemble for The Lion King," Ms Grennan said.
The Loin King was expected to be performed at the Capitol Theatre from December 2013 for an expected eight-month season.
Industry Dance owner Casey Tengye said the studio was preparing people for professional careers in the performing arts.
The workshop in on this Saturday starting at 6pm in the Industry Dance studio, 12 Industry Dr, Tweed Heads.
The cost of the two-hour workshop is $25.
