Levee controlled through great management
AS THE FLOOD water started topping the levee on Fry St, Grafton, SES incident controller Michael Stubbs was the man who ordered in the troops.
"It was actually fairly organised," Mr Stubbs said.
"Council staff along with SES volunteers and local residents all chipped in."
Everyone formed lines and moved the sand bags in as quickly as possible.
Standing behind those working on the wall were police swift water technicians, who were on standby in case the wall itself collapsed.
"We all knew it was the lowest point in the levee, if it went it was really going to gush in."
