GONE are the days when Housie was the preserve of perm-haired mature ladies and little old men.

As our photo from the tent at Brunswick Heads shows, children and teenagers join in the fun now - attracted no doubt by the chance of winning a cash prize, but also by the wholesome fun of getting together and having a few laughs.

There's the joy to be had, for instance, from whistling, whoo-hooing and going "quack-quack" with your mates when the appropriate numbers are called.

The Brunswick Housie has been held for many years and some of the older players come every night, as they always have. It's all part of the fun of the fair - and the lead-up to the Fish 'n' Chips Festival and the Woodchop next week.
