Latte help for sanctuary
CURRUMBIN Wildlife Sanctuary is full of beans after Zarraffa's Coffee announced it would donate about $70,000 in products and machinery over the next two years.
The funds will implement Zarraffa's Now Pouring Program within the sanctuary and support the animal hospital's care of some of Australia's most-treasured animals.
Zarraffa's CEO Kenton Campbell said the business's corporate responsibility policy revolved around its "backyard".
"When we were approached by Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary we asked ourselves 'what could be more appropriate than lending a hand to a major employer, tourism icon and beacon of conservation?'," Mr Campbell said.
Sanctuary CEO Jonathon Fisher said the wildlife hospital cost more than $600,000 every year and its entire staff "applaud the initiative taken by Zarraffa's".
"We invite other Gold Coast businesses to follow, to position their company as a caring company and to fill the missing gap in the funding of our community wildlife hospital service.
"We understand the cost of these vital works and also the very real cost - not always in money - not to do them."
During November Zarraffa's stores across Queensland will have donation boxes, so time is running out to leave a gold coin in support of our native animals.
