Labor's resurgence underway in Toowoomba
LABOR'S Queensland resurgence in the wake of the LNP's resounding victory at the polls in March looks to have started in Toowoomba.
At the weekend, Queensland Young Labor established the Toowoomba and Darling Downs Young Labor Association, the first of its kind in Queensland.
"This is the first in many steps to rebuilding our Party and part of that is engaging with young people and what matters to them" Queensland Young Labor president Nino Lalic said.
"The Labor Party has had a strong history of representation and service for the people of Toowoomba and we want to make sure that we have the campaign structure in place to win seats like Toowoomba North at the next election.
"We've also held a street stall blitz across Toowoomba, recruiting new members who want to join the campaign against this cruel Newman LNP Government.
"We'll be holding many more of these recruitment drives between now and the next state election. "
Young Labor Associations aim to give a voice to young people living outside Brisbane.
