Kings suffer third loss

TWEED Valley Kings coach, Craig Madden, has obviously broken a mirror, walked under a ladder and had his path crossed by a black cat.

Madden wouldn't win a pie at the Big Pen Pies picnic!

Such is Madden's bad luck with the unavailability of players through either injury or work commitments!

His badly depleted side slumped to its third defeat in three outings this season when crushed 5-1 by a classy Burleigh Heads at Pizzey Park on Saturday.

Madden has seven regular first graders out of action including key men Josh Blair, Ryan Cole, Matt Bruggy and brilliant goalie, Josh Green, who broke a wrist at work late last week.

"There's another two who won't be available for another few weeks due to working away from the area but all we can do is keep turning up and giving it our best shot," Madden said.

"We had no excuses against Burleigh - we were totally outplayed by a team which looks certain to give the title a real shot this year."

The Kings will play Palm Beach at Reg Dalton Oval on Wednesday night and then back-up next Monday against Gold Coast Knights up at Carrara.
